Completed Purses

I finally completed and mailed off the purses I made for a facebook friend and her coworker. I hope they like them.

The pink one has a front pocket added and blue one has side pockets for keys, cell phone, etc.
I also added buttons and a corded loop to these for a closure. I have seen several people mention that they use hair ties for the loop. I think I will try that soon. I have several pieces of cording that I got for free from a Clover booth at a quilt show, so I will continue to use that for awhile. I can't think what else to do with it.
Today I am going to start working on some Lickety Split Bags. The pattern is from Made by Rae. They are a cute reversible bag with pockets. Will post pictures soon.
Until then, Have a Happy Creative Day!

Purse Giveaway

I just signed up for a great purse giveaway at http://amiejdesigns.blogspot.com/2009/07/july-bag-giveaway.html. She has a great blog so be sure and check it out.

Two new purse orders

I have gotten two new purse orders. Very exciting! Again, they want them customized to fit their needs. So another adventure in adapting patterns. It is a great way to learn how to do new things and to also be aware of what customers want in a handbag. One only wants a front pocket added, so that will be easy enough. The other wants pockets added to each end and that may be a little trickier. I will show pictures of the results soon.

We just got back from 4 days of camping. We had alot of fun and some good relaxing. Did you know that campgrounds now have wireless? Who Knew? I used a little sitting around time to learn how to post photos on flickr and put them into posts. Hopefully it will make it easier to upload photos one time and then be able to post them in many places.

I hope to have items for sale in the Etsy shop within the next few days.

Have a great creative week!

Finished Projects

Yesterday was a good day! I was very productive. I finished the notebook purse organizers for the ladies at work. They turned out pretty cute.

I also finished the purse I was working on. The zipper was not the easiest thing I have ever done. Once I got it all put together, it turned out better than I thought it would.

I also signed up for a store on Etsy and set up a Pay Pal account. I took several pictures of items I want to post on Etsy, so I will have items up for sale within a few days. This is so exciting.
Have a Happy Creative Day!

Today will be a busy day. I going to try to stay focused and finish several projects. Three ladies in my office have birthdays this month so I am making them each a little notebook organizer for their purses. I will post pictures when they are done. I have a purse I have started for a client/friend that needs to be finished and sent off. I am using a pattern that she liked but that did not have a zipper. She, like most of us, has a problem with unexpected purse flippings and would like me to add a zipper to the purse. I don't have a lot of experience with zippers, but I am giving it a go. I found a nice tutorial at http://www.themikkelsens.net/sarah/journal/2008/o6/recessed-zipper-how-to.html that I am trying to use with my pattern. I am 90% complete, but I am not sure I am liking how it is turning out. I may keep this one for myself and make her a new one now that I am so much more experienced. Not really, but I do have some ideas on how to do it better. Over in the forum at Sew Mama Sew, Irene is hosting a Summer Skirt Sew-Along http://sewmamasew.com/forum/index.php?topic=1915.0 so I want to get started on that. I have picked out my fabric and am narrowing down my decision on a pattern. I think it will be fun to see what everyone makes. I am sure there will be many different patterns and fabrics flying around sewing rooms or Kitchens (in my case). Everyone should join the fun.

That's it for today. Happy Creating!

My First Post

This is my first post on my new blog. It won't say much of anything because today is learning day. But soon (hopefully) crafts, recipes and other ideas will be shared.
